Barbara Bunsey

Barbara has done something creative since she was five years old when her Mom taught her how to embroider. She discovered decorative painting in the 80’s and, although she still creates in other artforms, painting is her passion. When she’s painting, the stress flows out of her body and she has a sense of peace. Each brush-stroke becomes a kind of mantra, bringing life and calm.

Barbara has been published in all the major decorative painting magazines and ezines, has taught at conventions and retreats in the northeast and mid-west, and has sold her painted designs across the northeast and mid-west, including Colonial Williamsburg

In 2008 Barbara was chosen to paint 1,000+ ornaments that President and Mrs. Bush used as gifts to family, friends, and White House staff. She attended a reception at the White House hosted by President and Mrs. Bush, along with two friends who helped with small tasks in the “ornament journey”.

In 2017 Barbara was awarded the distinction of Accredited Decorative Painter (ADP) and in 2018 she was awarded her Certified Decorative Artist (CDA) distinction by The Society of Decorative Painters.
