Janelle Johnson
Janelle Johnson is considered an integral part of the late 1970s United States art movement that created the explosion of decorative painting.
Janelle earned the credentials of Certified Decorative Artist and Certified Teacher of Decorative Art through the international organization of the Society of Decorative Painters.
Janelle is highly trained in the style of classical decorative art through the school of Kingslan & Gibilisco, located in Omaha, Nebraska. She is self-taught in the color pencil medium.
Janelle’s work is featured in The Decorative Painter, Paint World, Pixelated Palette and Interactive Artist magazine.
While living in rural Kansas, Janelle’s representational work focused on floral, still life, and wild life. Upon moving to Florida, her strong foundation in color theory and design guides her current work in portraiture.
For two decades Janelle developed her multi-media style with an emphasis on color pencil. She shares her love and knowledge of the medium by conducting seminars across the country and in her studio in Mount Dora, Florida.
Janelle is represented by Painting Outside the Lines Gallery in Mount Dora, Florida. She participates monthly in the art shows in her area. She teaches weekly classes at DK Art Supply, Leesburg, Florida.
