Kathy is an award-winning artist; receiving awards from museums, art shows, Hoot, and more.
She studied art at a college level but would say she truly learned everything she knows from the decorative art field; from her attendance at many conventions and hundreds of workshops.
Kathy has had exhibits within the United States, as well as in France and Russia. She loves to paint and has said, “It’s a need for me; I have to paint.”
The most important thing she’s learned over the years is how to teach. She’s noted, “You cannot beat a good decorative art teacher for many reasons, but mainly they really teach and don’t hold back knowledge.”
Kathy has been a successful art instructor for over 30 years. She teaches in many mediums: oil, watercolor, pastel, and graphite (drawing). Her subjects vary from portrait, still life, animal portraits, and more!
She is most recognized for her Old Master Techniques, especially in portraits; having taught “Painting like the Old Masters” for 15 years at Broome Community College.
Her studio, Studio Six, is located in Binghamton, NY – where she teaches weekly and hold workshops.
She has also taught in Canada and Russia. And has recently started teaching virtual webinars through Artful Webinars. She is always excited about new art journeys.
