Sandy LeFlore

I have been creative for as long as I can remember. In high school I focused on Art and Illustration classes and had dreams of becoming an illustrator for children’s books. But life has a way of adjusting our dreams, doesn’t it?

After marrying my high school sweetheart and having children my creativity took off in different directions. Sewing the kid’s clothes, crafting with them, and illustrating newsletters for their school were my creative outlets for many years.

In 1988 I took my first “tole” painting class and I knew my dreams were being adjusted, yet again. I began teaching classes locally and publishing my own designs in the early 90’s.That led to managing a local decorative painting shop which in turn led to working at painting conventions “selling my wares”.

In 1998 my first book, “Just Snow You Know” was published. Over the next several years six more books followed along with over 650 design packets and several opportunities to share the things I’ve learned with others across the country.

Now, my creative dream is to just make you smile while you paint my designs. I have a quirky sense of humor, which usually comes out in the things that I paint. I’m inspired by things people say, funny quotes, and sometimes even the ads on the side of a plumber’s van. I just never know when something is going to spark my creativity, or what it’s going to look like when I’m done.

Halloween seems to be my favorite design theme because of the bright colors but I’m also known for my Snowmen and Santa’s.

I have several videos available on YouTube sharing the different techniques I use and even step-by-step instructions for complete projects. You can always see what I’m up to by following me on Facebook; and of course, packets, books, electronic packets, brushes, surfaces, and supplies are available 24/7 on my website.

On a personal note, I live in Southern California with my husband of 43 years, Jay, who is mostly retired and loves to travel. We have three grown children and five grandchildren ranging in age from 22 down to 6-years-old. I’m a huge college football fan (if I say “BOOMER” you say “SOONER”) and I have been blessed with the opportunity to do what brings me joy…

Life is good!
