Theresa Niner is happy to be a member of the Artful Webinars family.
She is the owner of Theresa Niner’s Tole and Decorative Painting in Morgantown, WV, has a BSN degree from West Virginia University’s School of Nursing and has been a DecoArt Helping Artist since its inception in 1988.
She took her first tole painting class in 1984 at the Mon County VoTech Center in Morgantown with the talented Ann Cloonan, starting with a solid foundation in strokework.
Continued classes provided a creative outlet and some well earned personal time from a busy hospital career in Labor/Delivery/Gyn and a growing young family of three children.
Eventually taking time off from nursing to raise her family, Theresa began teaching painting classes. She taught in her home, at a local shop, private lessons at a local church and has done demos for DecoArt at A.C. Moore in Clarksburg, WV.
As one thing leads to another (painters know how that happens) original pattern packets followed, as well as publishing in painting magazines, selling at juried shows and wholesaling her original work to local shops including The Tamarack Best of WV.
She designed an ornament for the WV Christmas tree on the White House ellipse in 2001 and as a member of SDP, participated in the Library of Congress Christmas tree project.
After a return to a physician’s office when the children were grown, she has now retired from patient care but not from painting.
Theresa continues to design custom orders, take online classes to learn new techniques and enjoys monitoring the exceptional variety of classes offered in Artful Webinars.
A member of SDP, she still lives in Morgantown, WV with her husband Tom, enjoys visiting with her precious granddaughters and is loving the retired lifestyle!
